What is the New Zealand Green Building Council and Green Star?
The New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) is part of a global organisation which set the standards for sustainable buildings worldwide. These standards are defined in New Zealand through the application of the Green Star rating tools.
Green Star Services offered
CASA offers Green Star Services across all rating tools including:
- Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) to achieve 4, 5 and 6 Star ratings
- Green Star documentation collation and submission to the NZGBC
- Green Star advisory services
Green Star Experience and Expertise
CASA is a faculty member with Phil being an experienced assessor, technical advisor and Green Star trainer to the NZGBC.
In 2006, the inception year of the NZGBC, Phil was invited to join the Working Group that developed the first Green Star tool within New Zealand, the Office Rating Tool.
In 2008 CASA were commissioned by the NZGBC to develop a sustainability rating tool for all education buildings in New Zealand. This was successfully launched in 2009 by the Ministry for Education.
Since 2009 CASA have assessed over twenty commercial, industrial and education buildings.
